Having a Mentor/Being a Mentor

There are so many ingredients required to develop a leader anywhere, but the most important is the personal commitment of an established leader to serve as a mentor and guide. To that developing leader and mentor that relationship is precious and the relationship lasts a lifetime, but the lessons and memories last long after the mentor has passed. As a young healthcare executive, I had a mentor that taught me; encouraged me; scolded me kindly, when required; protected me; and his words ring in my ears even today when I need to hear them.

Leadership Corps Vision

The vision of the Leadership Corps is to improve the quality of life in communities of developing countries through enhanced health services and better health outcomes. We plan to do so by working effectively with others in building health services management capacity in underserved areas of the world. We will do this through teams of experienced healthcare leaders who will volunteer their services.
